Hey everyone! I have been hearing of misconceptions and rumors on our expansion of the gym. I truly hope that this remedies most or all of your concerns. The Board of Godley Park has been talking about needing the gym expanded for safety reasons for 6 years. This Board continued the talk and decided to vote on the expansion. Anyone of you out there who uses the gym knows that it is too small and the equipment is too close together. The equipment needs to be set further apart for the safety of our community members that utilize the gym. In the talks of the Board, we needed to be financially cautious on the monies that are being spent on this project as we have many needs throughout our community. We watched the usage of the rental room and how it was utilized. We do understand that the room is a great asset to the community, but we voted for safety. The room was underutilized year after year. The Board has communicated this issue throughout its 6-year life of discussions. Attendance to our meetings is not required and the Board cannot make you attend. That is on each and every one of you to make that choice to attend or not.
Another great idea was presented to the Board. It was to build a separate building on the Amenity House area for the gym. Checking into this vs what we are doing would have cost at least 8 to 10 times higher than what we currently are looking to have done.
This project will not disrupt the pool for everyone as the work is being done inside. It will, at some point close just the gym access for a bit, but communication will be made here on our website.
